C.R.A.Z.Y. is not only my favorite gay movie, but one of my favorite movies of all time. I highly recommend it.

Thought of another movie - Bent. Sounded interesting when it came out. Anybody see it?
I watched most of Bent on netflix. It was pretty interesting, but failed to captivate me into watching the rest of it. You might have better luck though.
Two more good gay movies:
Strawberry and Chocolate (Fresa y Chocolate)
Gods and Monsters - I actually was impressed with Brendan Fraser's acting in this movie.

I don't know why I didn't mention this before but I recommend Latter-Days, the quintessential story of a gay LDS missionary, has language and some nudity but it is a powerful story.
I think you would love Big Eden. It's positive, quirky and beautifully shot.
Saw "Victim" on someone's list so ordered that one on Netflix, too.
"Victim" is a U.K. film made in 1961 that was banned in the U.S.
It's probably dated but it will be interesting to see how this subject was addressed back then.

Thanks. Saw Kinky Boots and both La Cage Aux Folles (Birdcage).
Kinky Boots was OK. Enjoyed the French version of Birdcage but didn't like the American version the first time around. Liked it the second time around though. I guess the first time I expected too much.
Viewed Bent and Coming Out on Netflix this weekend. I couldn't watch all of Bent. The violence got to me. Coming Out, a German film made in 1978, was better than most and it's surprising how much further ahead the Germans are to Americans in dealing with this subject.
I wish I could see Tea and Sympathy again.

My favorite movie that falls into this category is "A love to hide" (Un amour a taire). I found it absolutely beautiful and heart string pulling.
A second (or third) for "Shelter" and "Latter days".
I recently saw "Mulligans". It is tough for those of us in MOMs, and not great cinema, but made me think.
"Mulligans" could have been so much better.
The storyline was too simplistic and unrealistic. The married man just seemed to stumble onto his gayness right before plunging into his sexuality. Twenty odd years of marriage and not a clue in all that time? Then no introspection? No resisting temptation? Seems a little farfetched.
It was like some outsider's idea of what a MOM should be.
